Getting ready to visit Mr. Hughey

I would've made an entry this weekend, but all I did all weekend was watch Buffy. I'm really not kidding. Starting Friday night, I had several friends over and we watched all of Season 1 and Season 2 up through "Passion," the first episode I ever saw. We watched Friday night, Saturday most of the day and evening, and Sunday all afternoon until a little after midnight. Then, after they left, I watched a favorite episode from Season 1 of Angel ("I Will Remember You"). Anyway, it was fun and I indoctrinated new fans. ;-)

Today has been fairly hectic. I purposely put off preparing for my trip until today so that things would go by fast and I wouldn't just be sitting around all anxious. I leave tomorrow evening. Actually, it's been a rather sad day. First of all, when I went to the mailbox this morning to check the mail, I accidentally stepped on a lizard and killed it. I don't think I've ever killed an animal before other than insects and it was extremely upsetting. I cried and felt SO bad for the little guy. UG. Still makes me really sad.

After that trauma, I had to get the bills caught up before the trip, so I did that. Then I ran some errands and took the kitties to my mom's where they're staying while I'm away. It is so quiet and lonely around here without them. I miss them terribly already! I often wish I could just take the kitties and Andrew with me all the time, but I know that's neither a good idea nor realistic. Still, I am a home body in many ways and love being with the family. Poor kitties. They don't like riding in the car and the younger ones don't like going new places at all.

So now I'm getting ready to pack my things. I don't have much to pack as I'm trying to conserve space to bring things back with me, so it's not a big deal, but I'd like to get it done. I don't leave real early tomorrow or anything, though, so no stress.

So tomorrow I'll be on the plane and on Wednesday morning I'll arrive in London. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone - especially Andrew, of course - and actually getting to say a proper goodbye. As I get older, I increasingly dislike flying, but it beats walking to England! At least Virgin puts a map up on screen so you can see where you are and how long till it's over!

Talk to you from the other side!
