Friday Five

This week's Friday Five is actually a good one for me, so here goes.

1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?

Big time. It's always been a strength of mine. Ask my family. My room wasn't always clean by any means, but it was always organized.

2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?

I have used a planner since the 6th grade. No kidding. In 2001, my sister gave me a Palm for my grad school graduation. I use it in conjunction with Apple's iCal program on my mac. Although I don't keep up with it that much right now because I have so few appointments and the Palm has some mechanical problems. But I really do have to have some sort of planner or I go nuts. I'm also a big list maker.

3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?

Yeah, but there's not much in it. I keep almost everything in my computer or the file cabinet. I keep most of my office supplies at school while I teach, so those things are mostly boxed up awaiting unpacking in July.

4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?

Yep. All of the above. I've done that forever, too. In high school, I had like 200 cassettes and kept them in a case in alpha order. Believe me, I was upset with the CD era arrived, only because I didn't know what I was going to do with all those tapes! Books I usually put in order by genre, then by author or title.

5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize?

I was the stock manager for Victoria's Secret while I worked there. Trying to keep their stuff in order, safe and accessible during Christmas season is nuts! You'd spend all day getting the new shipment unpacked and in place (either on the sales floor or, more often, in the stock room), and by the time you arrived the next day either the other employees messed it all up or there were 50 more boxes of stuff to be put away. It was nuts, but I really enjoyed that job and my bosses were always very pleased with my work.

Hey Erin!

I agree about VS. I would have rather done shipping and stock for an entire day than to have been posted out on the floor. Then again, I was hein at selling credit so that's probably why I preferred the backroom. Ah retail, ya gotta love it!
