Friendly visits

Sorry for not updating more often. Some days it's difficult just to get myself motivated to update. You know how it is.

I had a rather eventful week. After getting hired on at the staffing agency, my friend Andrew (the other one) visited. He met up on Thursday evening with some friends and me at You Do the Dishes, the pottery painting place. I finished my jumbo kitty drinking bowl and even had time to paint a spoon rest while the girls worked on their pieces.

After pottery time, Andrew and I hung out at my apartment and had loong and interesting conversations about all kinds of things.

On Friday, we did some shopping and hung out. That evening Andrew worked busily on his online course (he teaches it) and I headed to the Brandon High School production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Although it was wonderful to be back at BHS and get to see my former students (and the ones I didn't know) pull of a successful musical, it was kind of hard to be there without my husband. I had to explain to people that I wasn't there visiting from Oxford any more, etc. Anyway, it was a nice show and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Saturday was a rough day. I felt very lonely and unmotivated. I think it's because I'd had the company of Andrew for a couple of days and now I was by myself again. Anyway, it definitely got to me and I missed Andrew a lot. Anyway, at some point, after many hours of just sitting staring at the TV, my friends called, felt sorry for me, and suddenly I had Will (my friend in med school), Evan, and Joe over watching movies and keeping me company. I also got a chance to talk to Andrew, which helped.

Today has been a typical Sunday for me. The guys are over playing video games. Our friend Wil (not the med school one, the one who's in the Army) is here and we've just kind of been hanging out all day. Right now the boys are playing Def Jam Vendetta. Yo.

This week is my 29th birthday and, of course, Mother's Day. I also anticipate getting some work from the temp agency. So it should be interesting.

Peace out.

I had such a fantastic time with you in Tampa, Erin! I'm only disappointed that Dan and I didn't get a chance to see you more while we were there, before we headed out here to Gainsville (which is where I am now, enjoying the WiFi at Starbucks, pining for the faster Team Hughey connection).

I'll send you some e-mail soon, but here's a Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Novel Girl!!!!!!!

Pity you are on the other side of the ditch - we all miss you. Though, of course, not as much as A. He will shortly have some support from Bumby in long distance girl-missing (I've gone and got a job in NZ) and Steve (Tanya is leaving soon too!). Quite a little club!

Oh - and what happened to 'sally' in the novel? Did she get her man - or decide to give them up for lent???
