Valentine's Weekend

I'd like to write a little entry on "W," but will first write an update on the life of your beloved ex-pat (that's me). Today I am again huddled in the ground floor of Hertford library with my friend Simpkins. We are glad to be out of the below-freezing temperatures outside!

Friday night Andrew and I enjoyed a nice, quiet evening. We went for dinner at a little pizza place in Summertown. They have excellent desserts and wonderful service, and also good prices. I gave Andrew his V-Day gift. It was a blank journal I bought and filled with some of the reasons I love him. I filled in a different reason on each page, and did a few little drawings to go with some of them. He really liked it. I also gave him a little picture holder. He gave me Season 3 Buffy DVDs and the Dixie Chicks latest CD, Home. It's very good. I like to write to country music.

Saturday we slept in, spent hours talking, and then went to see Hertford Choir do a choral production of the opera Dido and Aeneas. It was quite good, but I had a nasty headache. We had planned to attend the MCR Valentine's Day 70's Theme Bop after the concert, but I felt just horrible. So we stopped by the tea room for a few minutes, Sonja was kind enough to make me a hot chocolate, and then we went home. I took a couple of ibuprofen and went to bed. I felt better pretty quickly and then talked with Andrew a bit more while he did some laundry.

Today we slept in again and then headed into town for church. He's at the MCR meeting followed by the MCR computer auction now.
